Apparently, I sent it before I finished it, my elbow was on the touch pad without me noticing. And yeah, even my mistakes end in good results, sometimes. Guess that we all have Chuck Norris moments.

I would say that they won't get rid of the CTS. It was Cadillac's savior after all. Look for the next SS to be a cheapened up CTS.

Rendering, obviously, you don't expect a anonymous Aussie blog, to know the design of a car, that will launch in 2017, don't you?

Sad, sad news. The Commodore and Falcon have always been at the top of my list of cars I wish were available in the States. They will both be missed.

I can understand the Commodore going FWD, but no V6 option seems silly. China seems a logical place to build it given its proximity to Australia relative to anywhere else they would build it.

As for the SS, I expect RWD to have a definite future in the US. Cadillac is increasingly moving towards all RWD, the Camaro will move to Alpha, there have been rumblings of an Alpha Buick...it's not a stretch to see a second gen SS if there's demand.

Well that is an Audi A7 with a 2014 Buick Regal nose. That's melting on one side, apparently.

It's also interesting to note in the article that the next Commodore is supposed to be the same basic size as the current car, yet FWD. Sounds like they're getting the Impala/LaCrosse replacement, which comes as an I4 and a V6.

I don't think they'll have to lobby GM very hard to get the V6 if Chevy and Buick get one. This article smacks of sensationalistic knee-jerk reaction.

If the new Commodore is going to be the same basic size as the current car, or roughly the same size as the Buick LaCrosse, there's no doubt it will have a V6. And if it's absolutely positively going to be FWD, you can bet it'll be based on the next Epsilon platform, along with the Impala and LaCrosse.

FWD is a given. RWD just isn't needed in a family sedan these days, at least as far as the car buying public is concerned. Our desires are far from in line with the majority. It's just upsetting to us that Commodore nameplate will end up on an Epsilon car.
